One of My Foundational Beliefs: Appreciative Inquiry

Updated: Aug 18, 2024

Getting to know what goes into my resilience and wellbeing practices with the Positive Framing tool to Beat Burnout

Appreciative Inquiry (AI) is one of the fundamental influences to change that informs my approach to with the adversities of life. Appreciative Inquiry comes from the field of organzational development and focuses on strengths rather than deficits. It asks what is working well and builds on those strengths and successes to create change and vision for the future.

I recently wrote a blog post for an AI organization, Conversations Worth Having, where I showcase how to use one of their tools, called the Positive Frame, to approach the upcoming school year, which always causes me a bit of anxiety! The Postive Frame helps you to name what you want instead of what you don't want. You flip a negative statement to a positive and generate questions to help you create your desired outcome.

As I wrote in the post, I wanted to use the Postive Frame tool to try to keep "my summer vibe going into the school year as long as I can."

You can read more about the tool in the blog post, "How to Manage Your Back to School Mindset" at Conversationsworthhaving.today! and find out more about Appreciative Inquiry too!

If you want to explore this tool, are stuck on negative thoughts about your job, or think you might be feeling workplace burnout, book a session with me to find out more.
